Preparing nori sheets
Before use, you should slightly warm the nori sheets to make them crispy. To do this, you can either hold the leaves over a flame or fry them in a pan. Be careful not to heat the leaves for too long, otherwise they will become too brittle.
The right amount of rice
Place the nori sheet, smooth side down, on a sushi mat or piece of cling film. Spread a thin layer of sushi rice on the nori sheet, leaving about 2 cm of space on the top edge. Make sure the rice is evenly distributed.
Add fillings
Now add your favorite fillings, such as salmon, tuna, avocado or cucumber, for example. Be careful not to use too much filling, as this can cause the sushi roll to fall apart.
Shaping the Role
Use the sushi mat or cling film to shape the sushi roll. Carefully roll up the nori sheet with the fillings into a tight roll and gently press the ends together. Remove the sushi mat or cling film and place the roll upright.
Using nori sheets takes a little practice, but with a few simple steps, you can make perfectly rolled sushi rolls at home. Be sure to use high-quality nori sheets, spread the rice evenly, and don’t add too much filling. With a little practice, you’ll be able to create your own delicious sushi rolls and impress your friends and family.
